What you can learn and deliver
A project with a clear result
Contribute to an agreed project in the studio or a venture. Leave with work you can explain, tested outputs and a documented handover. Portfolio use follows the project’s permissions.
Experienced review
Review your approach with the people responsible for the work. Placement supervision, specialist support and review arrangements are agreed before starting.
Work across disciplines
Collaborate with people in product, engineering, operations and commercial work as the brief requires. Pods can change as projects develop.
Start with the foundations
We are preparing open foundation materials on Git, AI workflows and the habits needed to use them well. The proposed practice path covers a first working example, a sourced technology radar and a project you can explain. Access details and dates will be published when ready.
Unlearning
Revisit an old method when the evidence supports a better one.
Judgment and curation
Choose useful tools and outputs, and explain your quality criteria.
Truth seeking
Check sources, test assumptions and accept corrections.
Initiative
Take ownership of a next step, try a solution and ask a clear question when blocked.
Empathy
Understand the people affected by the work and communicate with care.
Learning and mentor supported work
Explore and practise
The open learning materials are intended for technical and non-technical participants. Browsing and practice do not require a CV or Erasmus status. The foundation programme is being prepared.
Show your work
Explain what you built, the evidence behind it and what still needs improvement. Formal role applications continue through the Careers portal while the open programme’s review process is being prepared.
Discuss a supervised assignment
The team may invite participants to discuss a mentor supported programme after human review. Participation or completion does not guarantee an invitation, a job or funding.
The studio and your working arrangements
Our studio is based in Oeiras, Portugal. On-site presence, remote work, working language and practical support follow the selected role and the agreed placement.
Experience through Pods and future venture collaboration
After the traineeship
After an internship, participants may return to their own plans, be considered for a role in a Skaler venture, receive an opportunity from a mentor, or explore a new venture with us. These are possible routes, not guaranteed offers.
Pods can provide a bridge between a traineeship and a job, helping participants gain further experience through defined assignments with another company. Scope, supervision and terms are agreed for each assignment.
Equity may be considered separately when we agree to build a new venture together. Contributions, ownership, vesting and milestones are discussed and agreed for that venture; completing a traineeship does not confer equity.
